Štrbské Pleso is the highest-altitude settlement in the High Tatras, idyllically situated on the lake of the same name. On the sunny southern side of the 2,093 m high Predné Solisko, lifts and slopes reach up to an altitude of 1,840 m. Skiers and snowboarders will find a variety of well-groomed and mostly snow-covered easy and intermediate runs in the Štrbské Pleso ski area. Those who enjoy individual skiing can look forward to a snow park and a short freeride run. For children and beginners, there are practice lifts and easy slopes available in the ski area. The winter sports area around the Tschirmer See near Štrbské Pleso also features two ski jumping hills and is very popular with cross-country skiers.
