Pure tradition! According to an old custom, every year on December 5th, 100 men gather in Fiesch to drive out evil spirits from the village in a procession with their Trichjen (cowbells) before Santigläis (St. Nicholas) arrives! In the other villages of the Aletsch Arena, this tradition is also maintained, mainly by schoolchildren.
