What do you call the combination of skiing and street food? Ski Food! Once again this year, the Ski Food Festival in the Zillertal mountains proves that these two seemingly opposite worlds are a perfect match. Now in its fifth year, this multi-course event takes place in the ski regions of Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach and Spieljoch-Fügen. From December 12th to 13th, 2026, culinary-loving winter sports enthusiasts can sample the new trend however they like—either to go at the lift stations or during a cozy stop at the mountain restaurants.
A CULINARY HIGH-FLYER
This year’s Ski Food Festival takes you on a culinary journey across Europe and all the way to enchanting Israel. For all early risers who need a little appetizer in the morning, there are small samples to enjoy on the go, both Saturday and Sunday. Since these delights await right at the lift stations, guests don’t even have to take off their skis to indulge. And during the relaxing ride up the mountain, with breathtaking views of the Zillertal Alps, the creative dishes taste even better.
AROUND THE WORLD IN 13 HUTS
After an active morning on the perfectly groomed slopes of Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach and Spieljoch-Fügen, there’s nothing better than stopping in at a mountain restaurant. That’s why these are an essential part of the Ski Food Festival. As diverse as the 13 participating huts are, so too are the specialties they serve. Spain, France, Norway, Italy, Israel—during the festival, each hut specializes in the culinary highlights of a different country. Guests can look forward to authentic recipes and unique interpretations at the highest level. The artful dishes of international star chefs serve as inspiration, and these chefs also support the hosts and their teams with advice and hands-on help during preparations.
