The Melchsee-Frutt ski area offers an exceptionally snow-sure and diverse winter sports region at altitudes ranging from 1,080 m above sea level (Stöckalp) to 2,255 m above sea level (Balmeregghorn). A high valley situated at nearly 2,000 meters, featuring sunny winter hiking trails, lies at theThe Melchsee-Frutt ski area offers an exceptionally snow-sure and diverse winter sports region at altitudes ranging from 1,080 m above sea level (Stöckalp) to 2,255 m above sea level (Balmeregghorn). A high valley situated at nearly 2,000 meters, featuring sunny winter hiking trails, lies at the center of this expansive area. Two distinct sub-areas flank the high valley: wide, gentle, and very sunny slopes lead from Balmeregghorn and Erzegg down to the valley floor. On the opposite side, from Bonistock, more challenging, steeper slopes descend the north-facing slopes over more than a thousand vertical meters to the large parking area at Stöckalp. A special treat for sledding enthusiasts is the 8 km run from Melchsee-Frutt down to Stöckalp. Melchsee-Frutt is a popular destination for school groups, clubs, and associations from both Switzerland and abroad, as it offers a wide range of activities for winter sports enthusiasts of all ages.
