In the west of central Georgia, a new ski destination is being developed around the spa resort of Sairme by the automotive company Tegeta. The project connects three areas: the existing Old Sairme as a wellness and forest resort, New Sairme, and the newly planned mountain village of Lamazgora, which is set to become the center of the ski area in the future.
The development of the ski area in Lamazgora is planned to take place gradually in several construction phases and will extend over more than a decade. By the late 2030s, a total of up to 18 cable cars and ski lifts are planned.
Once fully completed, the ski area will offer around 36 km of slopes and cover an area of approximately 144 hectares. By combining winter sports, wellness, nature, and year-round tourism, a new internationally oriented holiday destination is being created around Sairme in Georgia.
